TB disease or a TB epidemic can be prevented by receiving the “BCG” vaccine after birth. Those vaccinated children will develop immunity against severe TB disease. The vaccination scar can be seen on the left upper arm or left shoulder. For cosmetic reasons, some hospitals and clinics change the vaccinated area to an area covered by clothes eg. the hip. It is the duty of all parents to let their children receive BCG vaccine in order to prevent severe TB disease. More details can be obtained from every hospital and clinic. |
